Ezekiel 37

The Vision of the Valley of Bones

  1. The hand of the Lord was upon me, and the Lord brought me out in the Spirit and set me down in the middle of a valley filled with bones.
  2. He led me back and forth among them, and behold, there were very many on the surface of the valley, and they were completely dry.
  3. He said to me, “Son of man, can these bones live?” I answered, “O Lord GOD, you know.”
  4. He said to me, “Prophesy over these bones and say to them, ‘Dry bones, hear the word of the LORD!
  5. Thus says the Lord GOD to these bones: Behold, I will cause breath to enter you, and you shall live.
  6. I will attach sinews to you, and will cause flesh to come upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and you shall live. Then you shall know that I am the LORD.
  7. I prophesied as I was commanded. And as I prophesied, there was a noise, and behold, a rattling, and the bones came together, bone to its bone.
  8. I looked, and behold, there were sinews on them, and flesh came upon them, and skin covered them; but there was no breath in them.
  9. Then he said to me, “Prophesy to the breath; prophesy, son of man, and say to the breath, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe into these slain, that they may live.’”
  10. I prophesied, as he commanded me. And the spirit entered into them, and they came to life and stood on their feet: it was a vast army, a very vast army.
