The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse

On a foggy evening in Besançon you fall asleep at home. You had just finished reading about Chapter 6 of the Apocalypse on the Bibles Across Nations website. Your imagination transports you to a black-and-white dream world. There is thunder and lightning, the earth is shaking, and the sky is red with flames. You realize with fear that you are in the Apocalypse. Suddenly a mysterious rider gallops towards you on a horse. He is carrying a pair of balances in his right hand. In a booming voice he says, “If thou wishes to pass, answer me now, who am I?” What do you respond? You round a bend and see a horse drinking from a river of blood. Its master is seated nearby and is sharpening a large sword. As you approach him, he turns towards you and says, “If thou wishes to pass, answer me now, who am I?” What do you respond? You start to become tired and stop to rest on a blackened tree stump away from the corpses decaying nearby. You look up and gaze at the stars raining from the sky, wondering when you will escape the apocalypse. Unexpectedly you hear something whoosh by your ear. You look down and see an arrow wedged in the ground. You turn around and see another horseman. He shouts, “If thou wishes to pass, answer me now, who am I?” What do you respond? Relieved you escaped the three horsemen thus far, you are dreading the last and final encounter with the fourth horseman: Death. Through the mist in the distance you see a cadaverous horse slowly approaching. Its skeletal rider looks you in the eyes, and you feel a chill travel down your spine. In an eerie, trembling voice, Death says, “This marks the end of your path, for you have proven your knowledge of the horsemen of the apocalypse.” What should you do? [[You panic, but then shout defiantly, “I am not ready yet!”]] [[You hold your breath and wait for death.]]

You wake up and find yourself back in Besançon. Realizing it was just a nightmare, you breathe a sigh of relief. You shake your head, regretting having read Chapter 6 of the Apocalypse page of the Bibles Across Nations website.
